Its a hot summers night. I can feel the hummiditiy in the air and the grass scratching my ankles. I spread out my blanket and lay on my back looking at the dark sky. I can smell bug spray and hot dogs sizzling on the grill. "Jack and Diane" by John Cougar is playing in the background. Suddenly a BOOM rips through the night and my heart drops to my stomach. Everyones head snaps to where the noise is coming from, and for a second, there is silence.....followed by a loud round of applause! The first firework has gone off and it is the ultimate sign of the 4th of July!
Growing up, I absolutely loved 4th of July. Is there even anyway to celebrate other than a BBQ followed by fireworks!?!? My dad is a fireman and one of his friends on the department has a huge 4th of July party that we have been going to every year since I was a year old. After yards games and red, white, and blue themed dessets, the best part is getting to sit on top of the firetrucks for a VIP view. Guess being a firemans daughter has its perks 💁🏼♀️🎆
What are your plans for this year? I know this year is a little different but I hope everyone is still doing something fun with their loved ones ❤️🤍💙
